Web23 aug. 2024 · Construction of the bridge is expected to begin in summer 2024. The project is being jointly funded by the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and the City of Kingston. Once complete the new 1.2 km bridge will extend over the Cataraqui River connecting the east side and west side communities. WebStarted in 2024, it will reach its conclusion in 2024, when all the cosmetic work is completed. The major effort on the new bridge will occur this year - 2024 - with the arrival and installation of girders and the construction of the under-arched steel bridge section closest to the eastern shore.
